Juno Decal Maker is a user-friendly application to create custom decals and markings for player-built craft in the game Juno: New Origins.

  • Decals are single-colour and paintable from any palette slot.
  • Includes 48 images ready-to-use so you can get right to adding decals to your crafts: View Image

NOTICE:

28 Apr. 2024

There is an error in some of the images and they have a 1pixel border. If you want to use these decals and don't want to fix this yourself, fixed images are HERE HERE and HERE
Apologies for the error. This file has been updated in the .ZIP so if you are reading this and have not yet downloaded the program, you do not need to replace this file.

Other programs that do this already exist, but I hope you will find mine the easiest to use.

Make sure to check out the README for more information.

Downloads:

Recommended for most users:

Windows (Includes portable JRE) - 137.6 MB
(No installation necessary! Java is executed only at runtime and there is no installation of anything required with this option, whether you have any Java components already or not.)

Other:

Windows (Without JRE) - 5.1 MB
(You may need to install the Java Runtime Environment and have your JVM configured correctly)

Source upon request.

If the response is positive, I will work on a v.2 which will enable decals in paintable multi-colour and possibly a fix for the pixel limit. Also, maybe some image packs with more decals for this version in the near future for those that are really challenged with creating suitable images.

Please contact me with comments, decal suggestions or bugs.

@OscarOh Apologies, no, it doesn't do any kind of image filtering or anything fancy to merge pixels. It's straight 1:1

    @OscarOh Hi, thanks!

    A. If you download the package that includes the JRE, then it simply runs alongside without needing to install anything! I should make that clearer in the OP. No install necessary of anything. I can give you the source, but you would need to install the IDE I write with to execute from the source (written in Processing).

    B. Converts the pixel matrix into a text string to be pasted to the in-game text label.

FIRST I have not use yet, so my feedback may not be correct.(if it's some kind of offensive, then I'm sorry)
    just have some questions
A: is it possible that release it without jre?(meaning do not required jvm)
cus personally I'm not will to install a java environment just for one tool.
B: how is it work?(this question may be silly cus i haven't use this tool yet)
i know it's convert pic to richtext, but how is it just simply convert or it have some compress, like merging some similar pixels.
(I ask this question because I have done some similar jobs(u can see my craft GIF) and this is some problems I've occurred and fixed, however there's still more problems. e.g. I'm now making a 720p video convertor, and it's just too big)

I'd love a little bit of feedback from anyone who's tried this out:

How is it to use in general?
Do you like the quality of decals it makes?
Are there too many steps involved or is it too complicated?
Have you tried making your own images and how did that go?
    Any further comments?

Be negative if you want, idc, but I'd really like to know one way or the other from some peeps what the experience is like for you.
