Ya putting your lacunarity and Octaves way too high, lacunarity at most should be from 2.2 to 2.5, and terrain Octaves should never go above 6 on most planets.
Hope you go well on your planet making journey, you are very promising. -

@That1SpaceDude highlands being white and lowlands being gray, the red and dark red are the basic main biomes, like the overall terrain and whatnot

the highlands and lowlands have spiky terrain and I have no idea on how to fix them

@TheMakerOfThings yeah
and allow me to share my own knowledge regarding this as well:
- lac should be from 1.5 to 3, maybe up to 4 in some very very rare instances, but in most cases 2 or 2.5 is enough
- gain should be from 0.25 to 1, but usually it's 0.4, 0.5, or 0.6 (if you have high lac, go lower gain, and vice versa, if you have low lac, go high gain — the default of 2 lac and 0.5 gain is usually good for most people)
- octaves should be, for basic terrain, 4 at minimum, 10 at most (average is 6, 7, 8, maybe 9), 12 if you really need the detail but even that is excessive
- for smaller details e.g. "smudge noise" you should go 1-2 at minimum and 6 at highest, any more are just useless ultra tiny details that will just slow the game down — you can also use the non-fractal versions of the basic 3 noises (cubic, perlin, value) and it can sometimes work better
- if you plan on using custom lac and gain, note that entering the same numbers as what was before will not give the same results (for example, if you had 2 lac 0.5 gain, switching both to manual and entering 2 in all lac text boxes and 0.5 in all gain text boxes, it will not give you the same terrain)
