The invention of the anti-matter engine and the development of the massive Sol micro-lensing telescope have allowed for the observation of this distant world.
Settlers of the Sol system lacked an incentive to visit this distant world. As the population of the Sol system grew, this planet became a prison for the most dangerous criminals in the system. A great war led to the destruction of the floating prisons. Now, this planet and its moons now serve as a home to those seeking to escape persecution, or escape from the law.
