Orbit

Hema has an orbital period of about 9.3 Earth days. The moon's orbit is relatively stable and is not significantly perturbed by the other Paraterea satellites. The orbital inclination is about 0.22° relative to the equator of Paraterea.

Surface

Hema's surface is unique compared to the other moons of Paraterea. Most of Hema's surface is flat and smooth. Nevertheless, deep canyons are present on Hema, extending for many kilometers. Some of these canyons are more than 1 km deep, indicating tectonic activity in the past.

Atmosphere

Hema's atmosphere is very thin and almost imperceptible. It consists mainly of nitrogen with small amounts of methane and ammonia. The average temperature on the moon's surface ranges from -185°C to -177°C, making it one of the coldest moons in the Paraterea system.

Life

Hema is particularly notable for the presence of subsurface lakes, which have been found 5 to 15 kilometers below the surface. These lakes, located near canyons, are reservoirs of liquid water that are preserved by the internal heat of the moon. Traces of single-celled life have been found in some of these lakes, making Hema an object of special interest to researchers of extraterrestrial life.

These microorganisms have evolved in isolated ecosystems, providing unique opportunities to study alternative life forms and biochemical processes.
