Unless that is an estimation, I think a more rounded population number would be better for realism, maybe just 8,918,900,000. Even if there is some super advanced global census, especially with such an enormous population id imagine it would be incredibly difficult to obtain an exact number like that. Of course, I'm not an expert on how that stuff works so I may be just speaking ignorant BS.
Of course, it's your decision how you want to write the lore.
