Algea or also known as Tau Ceti g is the inner most planet in the Tau Ceti system. The planet has a high concentration of Alkali and Alkaline metals, the metals form ionic bonds and become salts. The atmosphere consists of Carbon Dioxide, Nitrogen Dioxide, methane, Ammonia, hydrogen, and a few trace gasses like water vapor, Chlorine, and Sulfur dioxide. Because of its close proximity to its star and its large amount of greenhouse gasses, Algea is a hot Venus-like world. The planet has large seas of manganese dioxide and lead dioxide. Algea has large brown plains made from salts as well as iron and copper oxides. The planet also has flats of salt crystals in colder regions. Small thin clouds made of water form high in the atmosphere. The water in the clouds react with chlorine in the atmosphere and forms hydrochloric acid rain that evaporates before it reaches the ground. The planet's strong magnetic field combined with its close proximity to its star creates strong bright pink auroras at the planet's poles.
