    @Zenithspeed But like you said, asteroid impacts are also a factor to creating those dark spots.

    @JanusIndustries yeah, true

    @Zenithspeed But the other moons are orbiting Talune, which means the forces differentiate heavily because on their orbit, they could be on the opposite side of the moon, whereas it could be close to Masera.

    @JanusIndustries i understand your "criticism" which is actually not-criticism completely, and i respect that
    as for the tidal forces, i meant the ones that come from the other nearby moons (Yalha, Taunoris, etc) rather than from Talune itself

    @Zenithspeed Buuuuuuuuuuut, I don't think tidal forces would actually be strong enough to break apart some ice on the surface. Given how Odena is the innermost and biggest moon of the Talune system, I don't think tidal forces would be the same for the two. Since Masera is the second farthest moon in the system, I don't think it would be possible for tidal forces to break apart some of the surface. But then again, this is your moon and not mine. I do not want to criticize you but I am just saying an if statement as if this moon was real. Correct me if I'm wrong.

    @JanusIndustries those are meant to be places were the ice has been broken apart (via tidal forces, impacts, etc) into deeper regions and there is a higher concentration of rock there, thus the darker color

    @Zenithspeed What about the dark spots?

    @JanusIndustries i didn't color the ice dark enough, it's too bright

    @Zenithspeed And what do you mean by not enough...?

    @JanusIndustries i tried to simulate the rock parts by making the ice color darker, but it seems it wasn't enough

    @Zenithspeed I meant to say rock not rockET

    @Zenithspeed But that still doesn't make sense. If rock and ice are really "embedded", shouldn't there also be patches of rocket also on the surface?

    @JanusIndustries it's a mix of ice and rock that i guess is kind of "embedded"... it's not fully realistic but since this moon has an orbit in the outer ranges it could maybe be possible that the moon's ice melts when it's closer to the star but then freezes when it's further away in the orbit

    How can Ice exist naturally in the habitable zone? With that fact the there is no presence of liquid water subsurface or surface, this is very unlikely, probably impossible. Correct me if I'm wrong.
