unlike the moon in the real solar system, mun does not have mares. mun only has darker, significant craters.
it is a popular first destination for new players, causing it to be exciting and nostalgic. (at least for me)
some craters are connected by canyons, which are unusually smooth and deep. this suggests that lakes and oceans could have existed a long time ago, but they all evaporated a long time ago.
