When launching, at around the 20k - 25k meters altitude, the green arrow indicating the direction of travel always jumps suddenly. This happens every time, sometimes the jump in trajectory is more pronounced than others. I'm not sure if the actual trajectory is changing or if the green arrow readjusts suddenly possibly because it was indicating a false trajectory?

In fact, @AndrewGarrison, I think this post should be merged with this older post

@AstroTommy yes, it happens on the way down, I've never tried to find the point of change, not sure if it depends on the planet radius or if it is a fixed value

@pedro16797 understood and it makes sense now that you explain it like that! Do you know if this is something that happens once you cross a certain set altitude? And I'm guessing it must happen on the way down as well? 🤔
I will have to do some tests to investigate... -

@AstroTommy it just changes from surface velocity vector to orbit velocity vector, causing that jump

It appears the real trajectory (shown in map view) does not change suddenly... it looks like the green arrow indicates a false trajectory and suddenly corrects itself to indicate the proper trajectory at some point between 20k & 25k meters altitude.
I’m not sure if that’s a bug but it would be nice if there was a way to stop it from doing that, if the green arrow on the nav circle always indicated the real trajectory of your craft and never jumped suddenly. -
So, the green arrow indicating direction of travel doesn’t jump anymore since the last update. That’s awesome! But After @pedro16797 explained that it was actually changing from surface velocity to orbital velocity, I am now wondering how the game deals with it without having a sudden change anymore 🤔
