The current parachutes tear at the speeds that the old ones would be fine at. Many crafts made before the update were built without accounting for parachute ripping. Additionally, the new ones are scaled weirdly, making them look wrong. Finally, they often cause the spacecraft to spin where the old ones didn't.

@Astrofuel do you have any examples of crafts that spin?

@Astrofuel what behaviour can't you achieve?

@Pedro Oh. Is there any way that you could reimplement the old parachutes as a configuration option, because the legacy parachutes don't behave as they used to. Thanks either way!

The model wasn't changed, the legacy support makes it so old parachutes don't have partial deployment and they deploy at any density
