The auto pilot in the game (something that helps you to lock current heading)can only be "rockets" or "planes".That is quite hard for the players that fly a space shuttle.
It would be nice if players can toggle the auto pilot's type in flight.So that they can lock on current heading when flying the shuttle back.

One thing I do when I need both is use two command chips.
Set one to rocket and one to plane.
You can get them to activate automatically in vizzy im sure but I just place them both in the cockpit so I can click them and choose "Take control" of the one I need at the time.
