Set terrain quality to 'High' geometric detail and '2.0' LOD. In the associated sandbox, the grounded craft gets within physics distance before the physics quad is loaded. This can sometimes result in the craft falling through the terrain or getting popped back up into the air.

The worst you drive 1.5 hours to another craft. Unfortunately, not making quicksave, and this craft disappears in your face. :D But it's good that this bug was put here by the programmer. That's great, I would give it a vote but I don't have 30 points yet :p

@AndrewGarrison after testing it looks like so, loading the sandbox with Geometric Detail set to Low shows the craft above the ground, but in high two of the springs are under the visual terrain.
With G.D. low the springs aren't clickable either, so all 4 may be under the terrain colliders. This may be happening when wheels clip through the terrain and then the terrain is partially unloaded, although I can't get wheels to clip now to test it.
