Imagine you controlling your spaceship on orbit and selecting craft that grounded. If you want to know the position of this craft at some moment of your current or planned orbit (moving cursor on orbit), result won't be as you expect: it's shown like grounded craft has orbit with pereapsis in center of planet so u can't edit orbit around this craft/base

    Also, you can add this mechanic for bases, for you can know the relative position of the base and ur vehicle at some moment.

    You know, when u have selected craft, u can drag the cursor onto your orbit to see where the selected craft will(on its orbit) when ur craft will in this position? So, when you do the same, but with the selected craft that is grounded, the game thinks that the selected craft has an orbit with zero periapsis and apoapsis == selected craft's position. Therefore, the game calculates relative orbit incorrectly.
