This is a single idea but based around the fact that new players have various struggles learning how to play SimpleRockets 2. The struggles are all very different but the idea I have is simple, add new playable tutorials and challenges to the game. Real time tips or notifications in sandbox mode could also help because while it's easy enough to learn how to do some basic things in SR2, it's an extremely difficult game to master.
For example, anyone who's wanting to know whether it's more efficient to launch a rocket with a planets rotation, or against it may get lost. I don't remember any explanation for this in the tutorial so I found myself going to NASAs website just to verify that I was doing this correctly.... https://spaceplace.nasa.gov/launch-windows/en/
Something else that's extremely difficult to figure out are the ideal launch windows to reach other planets with minimal Delta-V. I've heard this complaint a lot and still struggle with this myself. Online I've found that a few users have given basic instructions on when is best to launch to reach certain planets. For example, I've heard several people say that it's best to wait until Cylero is at a 45 - 50 degree angle ahead of Droo before doing a transfer burn but there's nothing in the game that I've seen to determine what angle a planet is at. I understand what a 45 degree angle is but to the best of my knowledge there are no markers in the game to determine angles of plants relative to the player so I find myself making educated guesses on when a planet is at the correct angle. I'm getting better at launching but I could be off by as much as 10 degrees on some launches for all I know. A new tutorial or launch window notifications in the game would be a great feature to help with this.
Lastly, when I enter the target planets SOI I'm burning a lot of fuel trying to slow down enough to achieve an orbit. This is normal, but here again I don't know if my timing is ideal for achieving an orbit with the least amount of fuel. My approach so far has been to wait until I'm at the closest approach to the target planet and then burn my engines in the opposite direction that my rocket is moving. Sometimes I do this burn as I'm aerobraking in the atmosphere a little bit to help but I still don't know if this is ideal.
There are a lot of other challenges for new users but I'll leave it at just those because I want to keep this suggestion oriented around the idea of giving new players more guidance in the game in general. I just hope the amount of tutorials and challenges that are currently included in the game aren't final.
More in game help on some of the more complicated orbit and burn techniques would have the added benefit of teaching players a lot about rocket science! More info on TWR, and engine and nozzle types are all things that could expands players minds as well. It seems to me that SR2 has the potential to be as much of an educational tool as a game. I've already learned a lot but in many cases I did it the hard way and I tend to have a lot more patience than casual players or people who aren't as enthused about spaceflight.
P.S. I do love the launch and test process in SR2 and believe that some things should be left up to the player to figure out. I probably tested my rocket 20 times just on trying to figure out where the best location was to put a new gyroscope on my landing stage for it to have better balance when I land.
