Now price and mass appear to be added inside the RocketEngine moddifier but if you change the value the game starts to behave badly, you can't open part details anymore and it's hard to go to the main menu

I can't repro this issue but I do see the log file mentions missing an Ion Infinity part. What did you XML mod the price and mass to be?

@AndrewGarrison Ion infinity is just an ion engine with no fuel consumption.
I tried 0, 1, some big 1eSomething number and deleting the attributes
