Sometimes you just don't get your engine setup about right, it would be nice to boost your engine performance (obviously at a cost to fuel but perhaps with a slight penalty since adjustments made in flight might not be as good as making them before takeoff). Many times I've found myself with an underpowered engine trying to achieve orbit and have had to abandon the flight.

    @connorjuvonen he might mean something like above 100% throttle. The SSME could go up to 109%.

    I think that abandoning your flight and adjusting your engine is part of the development process.

    It could cause damage to the engine like heating does for to stop people from just making super powerful apex engines with basically limitless power for big amounts of time.

    "Real rockets would be able to do this."

    Real rockets have a 'safe/sustainable' 100% thrust setting, and can go maybe 20% over that for a limited amount of time. But that is determined ahead of launch during development, testing and planning, not during flight.
    If you are trying to complete a mission with a rocket that you have not tested - or at least has been built based on a lot of practical experience, all bets are off. The ability to basically redesign your rocket during flight in order to correct you design mistakes, is a cheat

    This sounds like a throttle, but I'm only an engineer so I don't know for sure. /s

    Is this something like thrust limiter in KSP?

    So you just want to correct your own errors during a flight? I supposed that one of the target of this game is to construct rocket properly. If you made an error, just correct it and try again. Or try to calculate everything before a launch. Also i'm surprised that Dev upvoted this suggestion and planned it

    However, controlling engine thrust respectively would be a good option. If the function is combined with some kind of automated script module, you can do this kind of things.

    @Caveman999 they can't.

    @Caveman999 Then.. I still do not understand what Authros is trying to suggest.
    Or how is this apply to real rockets engines.

    @AngelLestat Real rockets would be able to do this.

    But this idea removes realism.. is like a cheat? If I understand right?

    Yes i love this idea.
