What you are seeing there is the camera clipping through the terrain and showing the atmospheric shaders in the center of the planet (quite ugly but they're hidden under the terrain normally).
For performance the terrain has a lower quality the further it is from the craft, so it's easy in some spots for the camera to go through if you zoom out enough.
