Fuselages with this style wouldn't have their outermost layer, this would reveal the structural rings and have a lower dry/wet mass ratio, this could also make the fuel tank cheaper, easier to break and susceptible to aerodinamic stress (like wings), this would be very useful for large interplanetary vessels and could be unlocked in a late game node named "nudist"
