Currently, wings do not generate any lift or drag if the game detects it is occluded in another part.
This does make the game more realistic, however, this makes making curved (fuselage covered) wings very difficult if not impossible. It also prevents me from having missiles that are contained in an internal weapons bay.
What I want is an option in the tinker panel that will allow players to disable the occlusion detection so that a wing piece will always generate lift and drag regardless if it is occluded or not.
