The battery pictured is taking heat damage even though it is in ambient temperature and not moving. The Battery heat damage was set to 200 deg. in tinker panel.
NOTE: I tinkered temp options further, set heat damage to max and set heat shield to max, but part still explodes as soon as it is exposed to sunlight

@AndrewGarrison ah didnt know that, Im learning something new about this game everyday! I was able to get the part from exploding anymore but now there seems to be a ghost part labeled "avionics rack" that keeps exploding (but not causing damage) but there is no longer a part labebel like that. Do you know what could be causing this?

Ah, sorry the tooltip is actually wrong. The max temperature set in the tinker panel is actually in Kelvin, not Celsius. Thanks for letting us know.

@KraZIvan never mind, there is no ghost part, it was just a mistake I made. I tinkered all the temps on the parts to be higher and i no longer have this problem on this craft. Thank you for the info!
