It used to be possible to type stuff like pitch*0.2 or stuff like pitch+roll (like on this green motor) in the input field in the part properties tab in the designer.

Now this is only possible by tinkering the hidden properties.

It wasn’t possible for control surfaces before (unless you manually add a new input controller in hidden properties) but I think it should also be possible for those.

@Pedro nope, still have to go to sandbox and enable tinker panel and restart the designer.

@FunkPunk that is because even if you cancel the tutorial, the craft has a flag telling the game it is a tutorial craft. Does it get fixed if you just open a new craft?

@Pedro I ran into the same problem again, and I have found a way to duplicate, and fix it on my end!

    How to duplicate:
    1 start new career
    2 cancel or follow tutorial
    3 open designer
    4 grab a fuel tank

Now it is not possible to manually change the fuel tank priority, only with the arrows.

    How to fix:
    1 open sandbox game
2 open designer (notice it is still not possible to change tank priority or change engine input)
    3 enable tinker panel
    4 close designer
5 open designer again, now it’s fixed.

It seems to happen once a tutorial prompts in career mode, so upon starting a new career game or when accepting a mission with tutorial it disables the ability to type into the input fields. Probably done to foolproof the tutorials, but it happens even when you cancel the tutorial and stays disabled when you finished the tutorial. It also happens after you accept a tutorial mission, even when canceling the tutorial in the designer.

    I hope this helps!

@Pedro you are right, I checked and it seems to work fine on my older Ipad and my phone too, but not on my Ipad pro 5th… maybe a problem on my end, I’ll try to reinstalling.
