Originally in the early days of SP (SimplePlanes), posts were not rated by how much upvotes it got, but rather the qualification of the post with stars.
This would significantly reduce the infamous upvote cults, by actually telling if the community likes the post or not, the user that uploads the post can decide if the rating is showed or not, and only show how much votes it has, or also the reverse.
Different star ratings would only give you a bit less points but not negative points as that would be frustrating for a lot of new users in the website.
If possible, this feature could start being "beta tested" by active users of the website to see if it's feasible and better than the current upvote system.
