The new parachutes introduced, are extremely heavy for their size.

For example, if we attempt to make a parachute similar in scale and capabilities to the Orion Capsule main Chutes, we can see it would weigh a little over 8 tons. This is in contrast to the actual parachutes, which weigh in at 310 pounds (~0.14 Tons) this is an enormous difference, one which is quite ridiculous. Even if we consider the weight of the Motar/systems the parachute is integrated with, this disparity is far too large.

The same can be said for drogue chutes. In game, the drogue chute weighs 909 kg. The actual Orion Drogue chutes weigh in At 80 pounds (36 kg) this 25 times difference, is a major issue.

For both these cases, I’ve attempted to use the smallest base size possible. I have set the inflated radius, and cord length, to match the real deal.

There is also a significant size issue. The main chute, is about the same size as a rather plush armchair. Considering the tight space constraints, I highly doubt the Orion CM has 3 Large Armchair sized parachute assemblies stuck inside.
This also affects the density. As per NASA, when packed, the chute is at about the same density as oak. However, a small, non tinker chute, weighs 144kg, while being the size of a large pie. Obviously, this doesn’t add up, unless your grandma is a pie making wizard.

I understand that some aspects of this game are “nerfed” like the engines, but this disparity is far too large to be justified by such means. It ruins the ability to make small crafts/landers effective. For example, a 750 kg lander of mine, now weighs 1.7 tons, essentially ruining its abilities.

Since I can’t attach images for some reason, I am attaching my sources for the Orion Parachutes, and the tests I ran.

i don't have the beta but this is definitely something that should be fixed, i mean damn that's way too heavy
as for images, you need at least 100 points to add them in posts, if you're under that it'll just show as a link
