I just typed out an entire in-depth bug report for this and sent it off, only to be informed that it didn't send because I didn't confirm my email before sending, so now that's lost in the ether and I wasted my time, so if this seems brief that's why.
Anyway, to get to the point: The contract pays a total of $200k but costs a minimum of $2m to complete. You have to pay for the crates (4 of them) at nearly $250k each because they're full of solid fuel which you can't empty out of them and have to pay for. This also makes them weigh over 500kg each for a total of over 2t. These two factors combined mean that you're guaranteed a huge financial loss for doing this Progression contract. I don't think that's intentional.
It's frustrating to do a mission that requires slow driving to avoid bumping off one of the sharp edges of the ridge-ridden triangle-based terrain - likely saving/reloading several times and even restarting the flight because when you reload the crates, being seperate to the vehicle, have reloaded in a different position and bugged out either breaking your vehicle or pinging up and exploding on impact - knowing the whole time that you're guaranteed to make an enormous loss on completion. It's just not fun having to do this for progression.
It's hard to get a relevant screenshot for this so here's the vehicle in the designer with one of the crates I guess.
EDIT: Forgot to detail how to replicate, but it's very easy to do so:
1. Accept the Explosives Delivery contract
2. Build a new craft that's just the command module and the four crates
3. Launch from anywhere
The gamesave file uploaded with the report is just after having finished the contract, so it's not there anymore unfortunately
Thanks for the heads-up! Those payloads are meant to be free
