I got the update, but now Parachutes will deploy and inflate as long as I am in an atmosphere, the drag chute in the picture was meant to deploy at around 10KM but when I armed it, it deployed and inflated instantly

The community asked for extra legacy support on parachutes but sadly that meant that parachutes made in 906 are now considered legacy. To fix this you need to use a new parachute.
