In some circumstances the Docking Port attractor is a nuisance. Gently shifting from one port to another is made more clumsy than it need be, or where there are a number of ports in close proximity the attractors can hold the craft in a magnetic field, or pull them out of alignment, making docking difficult when it shouldn't be. Deactivating the Docking Port should power it down completely.
