Game Continues to freeze up for several minutes or not let me do anything till restarting app. Will not let me access flight menu unless I restart app on iOS. Has not been problem since they have updated to the newest version.

Your device has less than 1GB of RAM, so it is not officially supported. However, it may help stability if you reduce your quality settings. Try reducing your terrain quality setting and also try reducing your resolution scale in the Settings -> Quality window.
