The Fuel Line check box (which enables the tank to transfer its fuel automatically to connected fuel tanks) is default off . This is incrediblely confusing for me who lived with the different system from SR to SP to KSP. To give a better user experience, I suppose that we could have the default of checkbox as on , and add a tooltip that pops up when the checkbox is hovered over or pressed for a long time (on future mobile). Similar tool tips should also be added to other features of the designer.

I agree this is confusing for fuel tanks. Fuel tanks always transfer fuel via their top and bottom attach points (even when this is not ticked). When that box is ticked for a fuel tank, that just means they will transfer fuel also via their radial attach point, which can cause problems and should only be done in very specific cases such as the external tank on the space shuttle.
We do need to add tooltips to the designer properties. I plan to get to that. We also need to do a better job of allowing players to identify fuel tanks for an engine to use and in what order. The XML is currently storing this, but there's no way for a player to precisely choose them via the UI.
