This is a feature i would enjoy very much. i have three crafts where this feature would be very useful. my
RL-10B and Vinci with deployable nozzles, having the plume conform to the nozzle would look bad ass. another craft where this would be amazing is my Nasa A-1 teststand with a tilt to deflect exhaust

Scale

@KellyNyanbinary what about exhausts just blowing them away?that’s the only thing KSP has that we need desperately and not conforming to things means that you can still have less resources intensive

@AndrewGarrison Cool to see this happen. I know I'm annoying repeating this but since this implies changes to the plume code...
Would it be possible to scale the smoke particle with the expansion of the plume so the sizes match? And also make the smoke match the plume (maybe making it come out of the end of the plume)
Would it be possible to make the transition from black to white steam smooth?

I'll leave this one open. With mods it is possible, but it certainly could be easier via XML to set some of these properties.

@AndrewGarrison that would be amazing, (also that title is a better idea :))

While we can't make the plume automatically react to engine plumes, we could expose some options via XML to allow customizing them. In your case, maybe an option to reposition the plume and scale it would be all that you need. (FYI: I renamed your suggestion).

@Kell Yeah, I know. Still would be cool though:D

But the devs have said that it is too resource intensive @InConstantStagnation

Would be cool, but probably hard on the computer. It would also be nice to have exhaust interact with spent stages and other objects (i.e. "blowing" them away, heating them up, producing explosions, etc.).

I think there should be a button were exhaust can interact with objects
