Is Unity 2020 part of v0.9.161.1 or part of the current public beta? Or both?
If I upgrade SR2 from .9.161.1 to the public beta it will not load, instead it will only get to the black screen that would normally have "Loading..." in the bottom right of the screen. It stays that way until I hit CMD+Q to close. It returns me back to the steam launching screen at that point. I can then downgrade it back to v0.9.161.1 and SR2 will once again load correctly and I can continue to play. On my ever-so-slightly newer laptop it successfully upgraded to the public beta version and seems to work fine.
this issue confuses and frightens me

@Tweedle_Aerospace When I opt into the public beta, SR2 will not load, it locks up at the black loading screen. it only does that on one of my computers. the other loads the latest public beta just fine. well, it has it's own issues that are not as big of a deal as the lockups.

Why are you still on 0.9.161? The beta is 0.9.701. Currently the alpha update is 0.9.616.

while typing this I began to wonder if Unity 2020 is compatible with my older system specs. after googling, I found that my Mac does indeed meet the system requirements. I also tried installing the public beta once again (after a reboot) and it behaves the same... locks up at the "Loading..." screen. It's kinda frustrating. thank god it will downgrade...
