Lemuria Shipyard
Humanity is heading out into the final frontier. Massive colonies have been established in the solar system and spaceflight has become unbelievably cheap. When in 2018 it would cost over $40M US dollars to launch a payload the size and weight of a car, when the fires of industry culminated in the International Space Elevator in 2073, spaceflight became cheap and accessible.
The Lemuria Shipyard would rise as a major space shipbuilding company, having played an active role in the construction of terrestrial ships that traversed the vast oceans of Droo.
Due to the relative abundance of minerals on Brigo and the massive crater leaving even more minerals exposed on Brigo, in addition to it's low gravity, the Lemuria Shipyard’s ideal location is Brigo.
Our ships
Kauffman-class Freighter
A much smaller freighter with 8 detachable pods.
Lizz Robinett-class Superheavy Freighter
One of the largest freighters in the Solar System, the Lizz Robinett-class (affectionally referred to as "Lizzies" by their crew) was first built by the Lemuria Shipyard in low-Brigo orbit in 2107. The final prototype was released in 2113 and ever since then, over 108 of the freighters have been sold by the Lemuria Shipyard.
Vulnerable to pirate attack, it was not uncommon for Lizzies to be accompanied by military spacecraft, usually operated by the companies themselves, on routes where they may be prone to pirate attack.
The ship consists of 48 cargo holds, in total able to carry up to 4000kt of cargo.
