rotators are great, they are amazing, i use an average of 200 of them per craft, but they bend so easily under force, on average, it takes about 500kg of force to bend a rotator, no one profits from rotator bendyness, it is a feature no one needs, and it outright breaks some of my designs, making me rethink and redesign then to conform to this great evil that plagues us since the begginning of early betas, so, i'm asking, is there a way to make rotators bend less? i see how bending is somewhat necessary to the game's physics engine, but there HAS to be a way to make them not be so wimpy, in the condition they are, it's just absurd. same goes for every joint in this game, like hinges, pistons, springs, electric motors, etc etc...

or... just reduce the friction coefficient of parts against the ground, that would fix things aswell, the ground currently feels like it's made of velcro, or that the parts are covered in double sided tape

    i use it to make wings that flex like a 787 :D

    @geotorum rotators have no size adjustment outside of the tinker's pannel

    @Edwards maybe try setting the size all the way up and part scaling it down? I think that this should keep the same property as the bigger part being smaller? Let me know if this works for you

    @NebulaSpaceAgency removing mass from connected parts makes physics wonky, stability modifier is a dead end, and making them bigger doesn't change anything, i did the testing

    agreed - their connection to the other parts is weak, and disconnects way too easy - it definitely limits custom landing gear, custom landing legs, rotor assemblies, suspensions - one side of the gizmo needs to be almost weightless to be semi durable

    although i think making them bigger works

    well the stupidest but probably the easiest way it to just remove mass from said parts, or using stability modifier i THINK but that probably makes things wonk. i dunno if this helps or not

    @Edwards ok, idk then

    @Chtite451SR2 reducing mass on the rotator, based on my experience, just makes it MORE bendy, reducing the mass of what's attatched on it can make physics break, and stability modifier is simply not an option to me, as it slows down the physics calculations. i've been trying to tackle this issue for a whole year now, and i'm yet to find something that works well

    by the way, increasing rotator size is also not an option sometimes, some crafts have very limited size constraints. I fully believe that with either a mod, or an update, the floppy joint issue vould be solved, it already was not a problem in simpleplanes, rotators there had no bending issues.

    Less floppy joints can be achieved with the slider in advanced settings (how did I already forget the name lol), or more size, reducing mass the rotator and whats on it might help too
