From many's perspective, upvotes are precious. But, how does it matters? People don't just magically start making nice creations that deserve 10 or 20 upvotes when they reach 5k or 7k or something and some of the best craft I ever seen are made by players that haven't reach 1k. If people care more about upvotes then space explorations, this community will be more and more boring, filled by junks that are just made for alternative accounts. If we want good quality craft we really need to be clear on what matters the most. To stop this hype of upvotes and "upvote cult" we need to upvote what we like rather than other nonsense reasons. Thank you.
P. S. I think there have to be a rule says you must download the craft and say why do you like it in comment before you can upvote. This will prevent some upvote dramas and make upvote system back to how it should be.
P. S. 2. This is just my personal opinion. Feel free to discuss this in comments if you have something to say.
P. S. 3. I felt sometimes the players that have high rank get too much attention than they should. This cause them to start make bad craft because they still get attention and also caused huge hardness for new players to get into the game and get attention. If it continues like this Low-rank players will simply feel bad and stop making good craft too. So than the community is dead and only garbage craft left.
P. S. 4. For those who are overreacting to upvote, I feel strange. What are you coming here for? This is a place for people to build rocket and play game, not for someone to hype for upvotes. It's a rocket game, not a upvote-competing game
P. S. 5. Let's do some math. A boring player post 3 trash craft everyday and call his friend to upvote it.
So, in one day, he got:
15x3=45.
In a week, he got:
45x7=315points.
Now there is a good player who put efforts. He maybe get 5 or 6 upvote in the first week but he only post once a week.
45x5=225points.
In 4 weeks, the boring spamming player get 360 more point than the actually effort-putting player.
So, somebody can just call one friend to upvote his craft and get 1k more point than the effort-putting player in 3 months.
If he's doing this with 3 "friends", he will get 1k more points in 1 month.
It's terrifying.

The community is becoming strange. More and more nonsense things appear and even meme post start to appear. It's a spaceflight community and a spaceflight simulator, so stop making SR2 memes. It's boring. Post it on meme website and keep this community a spaceflight community please.

I think the rule of homepage need changes. Instead of using upvote to determine, change to combine popularity, downloads, upvote and creativity. This will make the website a bit more interesting.
Basically I'm 7k now but I can't really make very nice craft. This clearly shows points aren't related to craft quality, and sometimes players with the highest rank made garbage craft, too.
I will kept updating this post when I had new ideas about the situation, even during the paused phase.

Right off the rip there's a problem. You say there are builds that "deserve/don't deserve" x amount of upvotes. Truth is, people who post here don't deserve and aren't entitled to a degree of recognition because of the effort they put in. Who cares if a joke post gets 50 upvotes and a high effort post gets 5. If you're getting your enjoyment through the likes upvotes and compliments, then maybe twitter or reddit is more up your alley. Using the site like social media and saying a certain amount of effort should equate to a certain amount of upvotes feels draining. It doesn't and will never work like that. It's perfectly OK to upvote something before or completely without downloading it. Dictating how people use a simple feature just so upvotes can fit the criteria of (upvotes = quality) is just never gonna work. Points aren't reflective of skill, nor should you ever be concerned with anyone else's point total because it doesn't matter at all.

people who brag about points belong in the trash, so what, you have (big number) points, whatchu gonna do bout’ it? it’s just a number on a website, you can’t turn them into a currency system. i don’t upload much because i honestly don’t care about the points, i mean, sure, it’s cool, but like i said, it’s just a number, and these upvote cults that come and go will put random players on the top page when their crafts aren’t even good. although i don’t think there should be a “download then upvote” system, that would just make upvotes scarce, (mainly because we’re lazy) although i do believe there should be slightly more vigilant users that can find alts or people in upvote cults and report them.

Besides the heavy focus on level and points which causes that to become a goal onto itself, there's also the problem that there is just to much junk in the upload section, so that interesting contributions get lost. Who's going to browse through all that? We can add tags but it is only optional, and using tags to filter is cumbersome (can only select a tag on the page of an uploaded item) and is limited to only one.

@SpacecoastCorp yes. This is a good example of how this kind of creative people who's trying to bring new ideas to the community being blocked by those high-ranked players. I think I'm gonna upvote him/her - he/she deserve it.
