I need a piston that extends and retracts on AG 8 for a retractable hardpoint mount on my latest project. I've seen pistons on AGs in other crafts on this site, so I know it's possible. If it needs XML, I won't be able to make one because my laptop broke and it will take a few days for a new one to come in from Amazon, so I can't use the Overload mod. If it needs XML, could someone please make one for me? If I have to wait for the new laptop to come in, it may very well push the build time over the 3 week deadline I've set for myself.

I finally figured it out. Type AG # (yes, 3 spaces, # is a number) in the input area. I learned this from looking at the pistons in StarbornCelestial1's Apex 1.

Go to the tinker panel, then activate hidden properties. Switch through the inputs (default is slider 1), then select AG 7. Then you are done! :)
If that doesn’t work, ping me on the unlisted version of it, and I will do it.

That should work, or you can just type “1” in the input field and turn on
0 on deactivate
, and set the part activation to the AG. Tho honestly their way sounds easier. -

No need for XML. Just select the piston, scroll down to the input controller, and in the input field type in "AG 8" (or press the arrows to navigate to it.

@118Industries Nice. Using hidden properties (option in tinker panel) can help a lot, tho.
