The 118 Industries Utility Vehicle Type 01 Mark II is somewhat close to completion! I'm not quite ready to post a photo teaser yet, but I can say one thing: It will be a 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒆 𝑽𝑻𝑶𝑳 instead of a tailsitter. The main thing I'm having trouble with is finding a way to easily load the container onto a truck after landing.

@Chtite451SR2 @DrexxVolv I've decided that the mechanism to move the container will now be part of a terminal tractor.

@118Industries somehow I didn't see this ping facepalm
You can also try more than one piston, one on each corner as well as the center -

@DrexxVolv this was what I originally had in mind when designing the original Dolphin, but I didn't know how to make working VTOLs at the time.

@Chtite451SR2 @DrexxVolv I'm thinking about a piston mechanism, but can't get the pistons to extend far enough. I tried stacking multiple pistons, but it started bending under the weight of the container. I'll probably use Overload on my laptop to make a really long piston or something.

@DrexxVolv I had the idea of docking ports too, but the elevator was my final idea
What can also work is a crane, pulling the payload up, the truck backing up to be under the payload, and then lowering
The easiest way just needs a stable place to hang, and a drood or 2

@Chtite451SR2 That’s what I was thinking. Docking ports would help lower it, but maybe skip docking the payload and the truck for a realism factor?

Nice, about your truck loading thing, why don’t you have the droods put the payload on a platform on a piston, elevate the platform to the trucks level, and then push in the truck? Just suggesting ;)

Oooooh, cool. Why “Dolphin 2.0”? Something more original would be nicer.
@118Industries ok, that's a pretty good idea
