4 days? That was fast!

Andrew has been fixing the bugs you reported since 0.9.8 came out, thanks for all your reports! We are especially thankful for @KellyNyanbinary, she made a very detailed bug report that made us find a very important problem in our physics engine. We have fixed the problem, but now the behaviour of existing crafts may have changed, especially in those that have many stages or that detach things (like custom made missiles). Please, check your crafts and make sure they are still working as expected. If they don't we are really sorry but don't report it as a bug unless anything weird happens. We are aware of the annoyance of such a change, but this should make the game more realistic and stable from now on.

On top of that, I've finished updating the textures in all the celestial bodies of the system, with some of them seeing a refresh in their biomes and terrain; and I've added a new, more detailed skybox, for all of you making telescopes to spot all the constellations in the sky.

Sadly, we didn't finish the new base in time and we want this update to come out now so we can start working on 0.9.9, which will come with some necessary tweaks and features to start getting ready for career mode. This lack of time and some great feedback we got from the community in the SimpleRockets Chat Discord Server made us realise this base has a lot of potential and deserves more time to get it right. Sorry for the inconvenience, in case you want to visit the demo, we are leaving it in place with some tweaks to make it more usable, such as ramps and rails. We also fixed a bug that made all launch locations point south, so you can save your own in the new base demo and use its runway.

As per usual, you can find all the changes in the full release notes.

The 0.9.801 beta is live on the Steam beta branch and it will be available on iOS and Android in a few days.

Join the iOS beta here and the Google Play beta here. Join the Steam beta by right-clicking SimpleRockets 2 in the Steam client -> Properties -> Betas -> and then select "beta - Public Testing" from the dropdown.

Have you got beta yet for your game?

@FelixFan1 I think all the physics engines of simplerocket2 will get better and better over time.

@FelixFan1 yes. I think the ocean of Sr2 has no soul and no waves

I would also like to see trees added in the future along with physics to go with it.

I think it's time to further transform the stars. Although we have added better textures now, I think the planets are not perfect in many aspects. If you can add a large number of clouds that can be directly visible on the planet's surface and astronomical phenomena that can be observed on the planet's surface, such as the aurora, the visible long and bright comet tail, and various volcanic eruptions in the planet, and so on. This is my suggestion. I just want to make the game more real.

just asking, would it be possible to add the ability to change the skybox in planet studio's system editor, without doing all sorts of fancy code stuff?

    1. Stop with the obnoxious formatting
    2. This update is for all devices
    3. Stability modifier is removed because it causes more harm than good
    4. The behavior of existing crafts is barely changed. It fixes a fundamental physics bug. It is not an error.

    @pedro16797
The update is for what devices in particular exactly?
What about my MacBook Air, It's IOS but not specified as an ideal platform for all aspects of the game???
Also what exactly do you aim to achieve by removing Stability Modifier from Advanced Part Properties, And instead you made it so that it's only configurable by editing the XML attribute?
Furthermore why haven't you dealt with the fact that in the next update you've caused the game to act in such a way that, the behaviour of existing crafts may have changed like stages or other pieces that detach objects?
Were some of these issues a combination of time limitations, Or critical errors?
    (No offence intended)

@DrexxVolv @PanzerAerospace I don't think SR2 is an online game. And please keep this conversation out of this comment section, perhaps?
