ok so i just spent hours making an awesome design where i used fuel tanks to make the wings, as the factory SR2 flat wings are just lame. i shaped them to look like legit real aircraft wings. did it with aelerons and elevators and whatnot, only to realize that the only thing that actually functions as a wing in this game are the wings themselves. no matter what i did, i could not get a fuel tank to generate lift even when formed aerodynamically like the SR2 wings do. is there a way around this or am i simply stuck using the flat, lifeless SR2 stock wings with the ugly blue control surface?

@PointBreak yup, after hours of tinkering this is the only way to do it, but even then it just doesnt really work very well.

@FriendlyFin either you cant change the color of the control surface, or im just too dumb to figure it out bcuz ive tried. no i just think making a real looking wing looks better...

Do you have Part Lift Forces enabled? Also, you can just clip the wings into the fuel tanks if the fuel tanks alone don't produce enough lift with Part Lift Forces

is the control surface just bugging you? maybe go to the paint tool and paint it all white

turn off occlusion for the wings iirc, if that doesn’t work, turn it back on and instead turn it off on the fuel tanks

I think you can't make it with fuel tanks unless you hide in it a actual wing

I just noticed I said what Schaden said lol. I also forgot to say what Nebula said, if the wings occlusion isn't off, the tanks get in the way and decrease their lift.
But yeah, not an elegant solution having to stuff wings in the tanks to make it work.
