One question about the new Parachute system

Hello, i wish a good evening, I've a question about the new (beta) parachute.

The new system works with the atmosphere density and open (most of the time) automatically at the points that are chosen before.

But is there an way to open them just like before? It's because sometimes the chutes won't open at the selected altitude (I always chose the parameters by altitude, never by density or pressure or what ever).

And at some other flights, mission parameters changes while in flight and I need "the red button" to activate them manually.

Happens for example from time to time when the fuel on a reentry lander is low. In this situation I wanna deactivate the engine and activate the parachute much earlier so save fuel for the final touchdown.
And please don't misunderstand me, the new system is an great step and I won't change the whole system back, i just think that an manual activate should be possible. And with the new system comes an enhanced physic model, so if I open them manual and I'm too fast, they will rip of.

But maybe the option is there and I'm only to confused to find, in this case, please help me. 😄
