Ive been trying out the new update for quite a while now but i just heard for the first time the jet engine sounds now.

I must say, something definitely sounds and feels missing from it. One notable thing that i know is it definitely sounds quieter than the previous one. Which is something I am not comfortable in. Maybe its actually accurate and i just need some time getting used to it but idk.

Which somewhat gets me to the second thing, the pitch seems off for the set throttle. I expected a higher sounding pitch around 50% throttle. It sounds like its muffled even though i am not in a first person view of an astronaut or tourist, which would make some sense since they have helmets that could make the engine sound that way. But the other camera perspectives have often a clear line of sight, and thus a clear sound path. The sound effect makes the engine feel like it has less raw power compared to the old sound effect. But then again, maybe the new one is actually better and im the odd one out.

Then again, SR2 is mainly a space game with rockets. Rocket engines should be the focus of the game, and not jet engines. Well Idk really. is it a me thing or nah? Can someone clarify?

The old one was more low bypass engine sounds, the new one is like airliner engines. They should change the sound based on the configuration of the engine.

yeah, it does sound really weird, and the afterburner gives it a bit more meaty feel but otherwise it definitely lacks the high pitch that jet engines are known for
