There are rumors of Betelgeuse exploding now. Well, I don't see a light almost as bright as the moon. So is Betelguese going supernova now? Here is a live of it.

@Zenithspeed 2023, if it exploded right now, we have to wait till the 2700’s to see it explode.

it's 642.5 light years from us, so if it did go supernova it'd have to do so in the 1400's for us to see it

Some were speculating that it could be going super nova 2 years ago as well. I suspect those rumors will persist every year from now till it does (assuming we are still around when it does)
