i've been trying hard to beat it (i've even resorted to using the F-Zero GX soundtrack, so you know things got serious) but i can't seem to find a reasonable way to beat it
really, it's not the speed that's the problem, it's that damn "keep your speed for 5 seconds" thing - it's literally impossible. i could only get to like 3 seconds at most, using a car with monstrous downforce wings in front of the wheels and a 41.7kN rocket engine at the back - it accelerates with the rocket then i set throttle to 0% so that the speed remains at around 120 m/s so i get more time... am i doing something wrong or do i just need to wait until someone makes (or already has made and i just need to find) a cheese solution for it?

@CloakPin i haven't unlocked landing gear yet, i'm just slapping the car wheels on it and removing as much of it (width, motor, etc) as possible for weight reduction

Depending on your technology you can launch a small suborbital rocket towards the northern icecaps (those are flat), parachute (or glide) a small rocket to the surface, and ignite it so it slides along the surface. Don’t need wheels, it’s way more stable without.
Thats also the easiest way to get the water speed tech points, a small rocket sliding over the bottom of the sea or lake.

@Zenithspeed if you do that be sure the plane will do the job once it’s there by testing its speed in the valley below village runway.
Would be a shame to fly for an hour only to not have the ability to gain that kind of speed while grounded.
The plane might need wheels and shocks instead of landing gear also. -

@BubbaTH that's what i'm saying too
do i just fly a plane to DSC or Ali and use its jet power to complete the contract? -

@ChaoticGraviton juno village runway since it's literally the only location i could use

I did mine in the huge flat open valley between Ali launch pad and air strip.
I just slammed wheels and a double shock system on a sideways rocket.
Lots of oscillation.
Make it long and enough wheels so if you do hit a bump then at least one should still be grounded. 6-10 should do. -
@CloakPin yeah, ik, for now i'll just stick to doing it with a plane tho
