I have seen it done before, where rockets are the following:
1. Tinker panel free
2. Normal sized, not obscurely large
3. Do not require part mods, nor rebalance to properly work in RSS
How do you do it?

Well tank volume aswell as engine performance are worse than irl to better suit the smaller stock system, so if you want to make realistic replicas that perform the same you need to resort to tinkering or mods
perhaps you are doing the orbiting procedure incorrectly
you could also try building the titan-centaur that carried the voyager probes to infinity
@SamTheFox but even when copying NASA, by making something like a Saturn v, even when accurately scales and made, it will barley have enough to get into earth orbit, if not failing to do even that.
like said, copying nasa doesn't work. ive tried to make an acurate sized atlas v, but i cant even get into orbit with it. the delta v is a bit less than the real amounts for a real atlas v. id say that the only way to go interplanetary is either make it really big, a lot of stages, or use only full flow staged and electric engines. that or use mods and or tinker panel to make things super acurate since without them, like insanity said the game is not made for the rss.
