instead of posting did you know questions I decided to post Facts about rockets on, what they were used for and how it works. Anyways lets begin.
It was the largest and most powerful Rocket in the world, until The Falcon Heavy Surpassed The Saturn V when it was launched on 2018, It was consisted of 3 stages and only design for the Apollo missions. It was the only vehicle that carried manned missions to the moon, It would have been used for missions to mars and beyond but due to budget costs It caused NASA to cancel the Apollo program and retire the Saturn V in 1973. The Engines of the rocket were created by Von Braun, a german Scientist who created rockets during WW2, and then the Idea was stated to NASA. Even though for Its tremendous size It was the only giant rocket that hadn't exploded or ended up in failure along with the soviet N1 rocket that failed many times.
The space shuttle was a reusable craft That carried heavy payload such as space probes or space telescopes into space. It Launches like a rocket and lands like a plane, It was also NASA only vehicle that carried Astronauts to the ISS, MIR or during scientific missions. After its retirement in 2011 NASA had no plans on constructing a spacecraft that could carry their men to the ISS, so they had to use the Russian Soyuz to get there. The space shuttle designs were created even before the Apollo missions started or the Space Race Began. The space shuttle consisted of 3 stages, 2 solid rocket boosters and 1 external fuel tank. There were 5 operational orbiters: Endeavor, Atlantis, Discovery, Challenger and Columbia(Enterprise was supposed to be operational and used for post missions Instead it was rather used for testing before the first space shuttle launch). The space shuttle had 2 catastrophic failures, the most famous was the challenger disaster that killed all 7 crew members(Including the first teacher in space) and as of now it remains NASA's Deadliest Space mission Failure of all time, The astronauts who died on board are still honored by NASA.
Thats all for now! Ill post more later!
Also point out what I did wrong on the comments and I'll fix it.
