The Patriot capsule is exploding on every contact with the ground! It happens at 7m/s, shouldn't that be right? If I increase the size of the parachutes they will become 2/3 of the capsule! Any idea why the capsule is exploding like that? Yes its a heat shield capsule and both have 100% hp when they touch the ground

@RudimentaryCheezit @LeMagicBaguette it’s soyuz, soyuz has solid motors on the base of the capsule that ignite just before touchdown to soften the landing

@RudimentaryCheezit it’s the Орел, or Eagle.

@RudimentaryCheezit that is true, but that’s a bit costlier and heavier than wheels or water landings, especially for something as beefy as the Patriot. The rocket you’re likely talking about is the Crew Dragon. There was a planned variant with retrorockets, but I’m not sure if it’s still a thing.

@LeMagicBaguette Too bad, I really wanted to land on land without resorting to gadgets... I'm going to land on water from now on.
    Thanks for the answer

Seven metres per second is pretty bad for earthen landings. I’d recommend a water landing. Those are a bit more forgiving. If you want to land on terra firma, you need to find something to use as a cushion. I’d recommend wheels turned to face the ground, but I don’t know if that’d work.
