Hi, I am working on an auto Lunar Mission using Vizzy. I have sorted the launch to circular orbit and also the landing on the moon. Still to fathom the return as of yet. My question is; is there a way to execute a burn to the moon at the most efficient point I guess the TLI point, and have the vizzy aim for a specific apoapsis around the moon? Or is there a way to auto stop the burn when the SOI is going to be encountered?

Right now I use a primitive method of waiting a specific time from circularising and burning to a set earth apoapsis that eventually encounters the SOI of the moon. This does work however not particularly accurate as sometimes it will fall short of go too long.

I hope this makes sense.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Cheers

@Cjkb Interesting! Since I have (nearly, rendevous missing...) finished my Vizzy launcher and landing programs I have asked myself the same question. It would be the next step to an MechJeb equivalent in JNO. Perhaps you can implement a Hohmann transfer with the usage of the Moon orbital information one can get in Vizzy. If I find the time I would examine this. (if we find a solution for Lunar, then for the Moon as well I think.).
Also interested in this could be @RichGWall I think.
