"Esperteld and Indros"

Info: Planet and moon system from the old draft of the “NH” (New Humanity) world building project I’m working on. The close body (Indros) is an industrial ecumenopolis, its surface is stained sickening colours due to pollution and waste. The distant body (Esperteld) orbits Alpha Centauri a in an elliptical orbit at a high axial tilt, causing extreme weather and insane seasons, this extreme environment has in turn created an extreme society, the entirety of Esperteld and most of the entire trinary system is under control of the United Kingdoms of Esperteld and Darus, (Darus being a planet orbiting Alpha Centauri b) a fascistic empire that seeks to ever expand and conquer the known galaxy for….. well, not very good reasons.

Hastily made and admittedly unrealistic view of the partially terraformed Mars from near Union-Lagrangia, an enormous, interconnected complex of O'Neil Cylinders at the the centre of mars L2 Lagrange point, being in a constant eclipse for a large part of the martian year.
U-L is also an independent city state and one of its Cylinders contains the HQ of the United Nations, as well as the consulate buildings for hundreds of sovereign states and entities from across Sol.

The large city visible is Novensides, located a few kilometres south-east of Mount Pavonis, one of the largest cities on mars, with approximately 79 million residents as of 2360, and one of the seven major cities where Martian culture and intellectual thought grew during the colonial period (2089-2172).
Novensides was the site of the first shots of the Pavonian Revolt (2159-2160), the first conflict of the Tharsisian Independence Wars (2159-2166), and later in the war the city (mostly located underground at the time) was besieged by colonial Italian-French forces, with aid from British and American mercenaries. Within a few days most of the city fell, with Pavonian defenders falling back to the fortified husk of the city’s old industrial district.
For thirteen days Pavonian forces held out against the siege, facing endless assaults, tunnel warfare, and even British chemical attacks, until they were relieved and the siege was lifted by independent Aonian and Chrysian forces.
