Is there a way to make your craft check to see if you have selected a target, or prompt the vizzy to select your desired target for you?

How does "set variable 'x' to user input 'Message Text...' " work? A menu pops up in the beginning, asking for a prompt. Can I somehow set this up so that when I type the name of a planet or moon, it sets the target for that planet or moon that I typed in?
