I was just browsing the site, looking at one of my forum posts, and I saw this:
It seems to be some kind of scam or gambling (possibly both) website. I am curious to see if anyone else has seen these (this isn’t even my first time seeing these).
Jundroo, please ban these accounts. They are most likely scam bot accounts.
@Pedro thanks for trying to help. It doesn’t necessarily ruin the site, but it is really annoying, but I know you are trying, and, unfortunately, people are going to make better and better bots (by better I mean more capable). Still, thanks for what you are doing to help the issue.
We have been trying to deal with these bots for a while, manually banning them and the IPs they use to access our websites (both this an simpleplanes.com). About a month ago we implemented Google's Captcha, which is the industry standard, and it seems to have improved things, but sadly some bots sneak through every once in a while still, we are giving the new Captcha some time since it seems to improve over time after getting more info about what's the organic traffic like.
@Mostly there seems to be a scambot problem on the site, can you and the rest of the moderating team help/deal with it?
yeah, we've been experiencing a scambot infestation for a while now, there's a few in the forums as well

Not that it’s for me to make any moral judgments over gambling but. I just saw a few months ago you can place bets on which jerseys the teams will be wearing! Surly it’s gone a bit too far no?
