finally returned from the dreaded summer camp... my entire body hurts but at least it's over
anyways, very good news time...
I GOT A NEW IPAD, BOIIIIII
my old one was 6 years old at this point, it did well but it's time for it to rest, so now i have an even bigger brick, which means...
THE GOOD STUFF:
1. mo processin powa baby
2. way more storage space... ONE TERABYTE OF IT. (old one was 128GB, i originally only wanted the 512GB one for this but my dad bought the 1TB version regardless)
3. hopefully no more game crashes :)))))))))
4. actually working caps lock, as a seperate key. no more having to bash the shift key (though it's still possible to enable caps lock that way for those used to it)
5. i can run good graphics on many games now... but i still won't, because i'm so used to low graphics that i genuinely think the low graphics looks better (i did increase my graphics on SR2 though, so expect the pics of Utopia and the ones afterwards to be LIT)
THE NOT SO GOOD STUFF:
1. i won't be able to complain about games having crap optimization anymore :((((((((((( shame that i have to leave the poor specs area... it's been a good run.
2. i gotta get used to ALL the controls again, in so many games. the aspect ratio and needing to reconfigure so many control schemes is especially gonna make this hard.
3. when i said this thing is a brick, i wasn't lying. it is HUGE.
4. more modern = even more planned obscolescence, and i'm also fully vulnerable to all the scummy stuff forced by Apple and/or the EU
aside from that, July should mostly be free for me, so hopefully i can finally enjoy the "break" part of summer break.
ZG2 stuff will be back soon, Utopia is planned for tomorrow so it should come out if everything goes to plan. after that, just a few more things (since we're at the end of the alphabet) and a finisher with the galaxy cente. after that i need to write the full update log (as a seperate forum post because it's too big lol), do final testing and screenshots, and then actually post the thing. a late-summer release is possible, but if not, it'll get pushed to winter break with a few tweaks along the way.
i've also started making official artwork for my Hypernova thing, including a redesign for the Zenith logo (still the same style but it's radially symmetric rather than being a Union Jack recolor), and a logo for the Zenith-Titan base. no idea when stuff like character art will come, but hopefully once i'm done with ZG2 the biggest weight off my shoulders will be lifted and i'll finally be able to un-burnout myself.
aside from that, i'm planning an SV80 revamp (not this one, it's still V3, a winter break release might be possible) which remakes the body style to fit a newer design language and also optimizes some of the systems if possible. i also plan to give it a lore-accurate interior with some movable things, which is the main reason for the body style change (the cross section of the "central section" with the nose (but not the traingular sides) is square rather than rectangular)
so yeah, i am so back.
