Fusion Space is targeting today at 22:00 GMT for the second high-altitude flight test of a Gryphon upperstage prototype.
With the incredible success of the SN7 prototype, Fusion Space is going to attempt a more ambitious flight profile with SN8. The goal today is to perform a successful ascent reaching speeds of Mach 1 and perform a controlled descent with the two moving fins at the base of the vehicle. As with the last flight, Gryphon will yet again ignite two engines to perform a soft splashdown in the ocean.
With any test flight, there may be something that could go wrong. With the knowledge gained from today's test flight. We will use the data gathered to improve the overall design of Gryphon as we look at reaching orbit this year.
